A Proud Showing at the Vermilion Fair Parade

A Tradition of Community Involvement

Every summer, the Vermilion Fair brings the community together in celebration of local roots, hard work, and small-town pride. This year, we at LMG were thrilled to join the fun once again with a custom-built float crafted by our team at the Vermilion facility.

Since opening our fabrication shop in Vermilion in 2010, the town has become more than just a strategic location for our tank manufacturing business, it’s a community we’re proud to support and grow with. With its proximity to the oil fields and a strong foundation of skilled tradespeople, Vermilion continues to play a vital role in our operation. But it’s the people and the spirit of the community that truly make it special.

Daniel Bibeau, our General Manager at the Vermilion facility, reflected on what the fair means to both the company and the town:

“Since setting up shop in Vermilion in 2010, we come to find out our first summer of 2011 that the Vermilion Fair is truly one of a kind when it comes to small town fairs. It is impressive to see the level of commitment from so many businesses and so many people volunteering their time to help make it a success every year. It appears to get bigger every year and to see the amount of people it brings to our community is incredible.

We as a company take great pride in contributing to various charitable events throughout the community and participating in the annual parade that kicks off the fair weekend is something we look forward to every year. How could you not when you see the crowds that gather for the event? For anyone who has never attended the Vermilion Fair, all I can say is you should. Amazing job Vermilion Ag Society!”

At LMG, community involvement isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we live. We’re grateful to be part of a town like Vermilion, where tradition and community spirit are alive and well.

Building a Float with Heart

LMG Vermilion Team and Families with the 2025 Fair float

Since our first year in Vermilion, we’ve proudly participated in the parade. Over the years, our floats have received two first-place finishes in the commercial category and regularly placed among the top five. But what matters most to us is the opportunity to connect with our community and contribute to a tradition that brings people together.

Every year, we look forward to designing a float that reflects the parade’s theme and captures the spirit of the event. This year’s theme, Mardi Gras at the Farm, inspired a vibrant float filled with colour and creativity. Our team designed steel cut-out farm animals dressed in Mardi Gras masks and beads, along with a festive barn, a rotating windmill, and of course, our signature touch: pulling it all with a 80+ year old John Deere tractor once owned by Irv Gottschlich, the late brother of our CEO, Lee Gottschlich.

We would like to thank the Vermilion Agricultural Society for organizing another outstanding fair. Their continued efforts are the reason this event remains such an important part of local life, and we are grateful for all the hard work that goes into making it happen.

To everyone who came out to support the fair and cheer on the parade, thank you. We are proud to be part of the Vermilion community and we are already looking forward to next year’s celebration.
